Bad Job Bingo

I read bad jobs so you don't have to.

Every listing gets a full, honest breakdown — the red flags, the hidden gems, and everything in between. No salary range? "We're like a family"? Five jobs in one paycheck? Noted. Good ones get celebrated too.

I started rating job listings because I was frustrated. I kept going because apparently so were you.

The Roundup

What's happening in CX and tech.

Industry news, community shoutouts, CX work worth seeing, and all of my many opinions. Chaotic? Sometimes. Always useful.

This started as me forwarding links to the group chat with commentary. It's the same thing now, just a tad more organized.

Deep Dives

When a paragraph won't cover it.

The long ones. One topic followed all the way down — what happened, who it landed on, and why it matters.

Occasionally a story won't leave me alone. This is where it goes.

"Your writing feels refreshingly real in a world of polished nonsense. Thanks much for continuing to say things many quietly think but rarely articulate, Steph."
— Dennis Mortensen
"I wanted to send you a big, huge thank you! Because of your SupportHuman Jobs page, I was able to land a job which is basically a dream come true. I discovered it there when it wasn't showing anywhere else and signed the offer last Friday. Thank you thank you thank you!!!"
— L. G.
"I love your site, it’s been a game changer in my job search strategy."
— K. L.
"Don't miss this. Steph is one of the best voices in tech. These posts aren't here to make anyone feel bad or to scare companies or candidates. Hiring is an unbalanced process, with the company holding most (sometimes all) of the power and the candidates hoping to continue paying their bills. Honest reviews of job listings helps us ALL do better."
— Brian Levine
"To all my CS and T&S people—a recommendation: I love newsletters as a medium, but mostly stopped reading them when many of them turned into essentially shower thoughts with copious line breaks. THIS IS DIFFERENT. Not only full of incredibly useful info, but it is funny. Very funny. And validating. And has lots of delightful text link side quests. Just read it and thank me later. (Especially if you are job-hunting!)"
— Caitlin Sills
"To my customer support network: if you're not subscribed, go do it!!!"
— Alice Hunsberger
"These JD summaries have me rolling 🤣 Your sense of humor is perfect for lifting the spirits of those of us navigating the job market right now. 🙏 Thank you!"
— Merissa Jones
"Your takes and insights are one of the few things getting me through the dystopian hell we find ourselves in. You’re amazing!"
— Bri
"For those of you in HR/Recruiting, or looking for CX jobs (or heck, even if you're neither)... you should check out Stephanie Lundberg's reviews of job postings. Funny, insightful, clearly backed by enormous experience."
— Lauren Bateman, PhD
"Your tireless snark and honesty always make me smile/grimace, and I appreciate you for being you out loud."
— Magnus
"I wanted to let you know just how wonderful it’s been to read your blog over the past few weeks. Bad Job Bingo has made me want to laugh and cry (but mostly laugh) in the best way and I just think your content as a whole has been just what the community has needed."
— Y.
"Your writing is (as always, but especially important today) beautifully researched and clear - you keep doing you!"
— Allison Cloyd

The snark is free. The hosting isn't.
